The Environment
While parks provide clean air, water and greenery for citizens to enjoy, it also maintains healthy ecosystems.

Parks allow for wildlife habitats to be preserved and protected from elements cause by urban environments. This protection ensures the health of these ecosystems, allowing the wildlife in Louisville to continue to flourish.
Parks help reduce the impacts of climate change by redirecting the higher temperature effects of urban heat islands. This limits the effects of climate change for both humans as well as plants and animals, further ensuring the health of all who live and grow in our city.
The building of more parks will not only preserve our environment but create new environments to establish healthier ecosystems. Parks can offset the damages humans have placed onto our environment and actively repair this destruction.
